UK ambassador to Kuwait faces 'affair' allegations ( la walla !!)

The British ambassador to Kuwait has returned to the UK amid allegations of an affair with a junior embassy employee, the UK’s Daily Mail has reported.

Michael Aron, 50, a married father of four, has left the Gulf state after allegedly having an affair with his younger colleague Victoria Cumming.

He is understood to have taken a desk job in Whitehall, London, just a year after taking the role of ambassador to Kuwait.

Miss Cumming, 35, who is also married, has returned to the UK and is understood to be pregnant (kamaan ??? da entoo mehabebeen hebaaab  ), the paper said. She formerly worked at the embassy in Kuwait City.

Her husband of nine years, David Fisk, a banker, remains in Kuwait, the paper said.

Mr Aron’s wife and mother of his four children, Dr Rachel Aron, is the British ambassador to Belgium.

Under Kuwait’s Sharia law, adultery is punishable by jail or lashes. If found guilty, expatriates working in the Gulf state would also face deportation.

The Foreign Office declined to comment on the report. A spokesman told the paper: “We don't comment on the personal lives of individual employees or internal personnel issues.”
