Perana Z-One

What do you get when you cross a Corvette engine, a Zagato body, and a new South African manufacturer? The Perana Z-One ($75,000 est.), that's what. This unique exotic, limited to a build run of just 999 cars, features a 6.2L LS3 V8 Corvette engine good for at least 440 hp and a 0-60 time of under four seconds. But forget about performance -- this is one of the best-looking rides we've seen in a long time.

2010 Porsche 911 GT3

Power + technology = performance. At least it does in the case of the 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 ($112,200; Fall 2009). We're not talking about computer-style tech though — the new GT3 packs a 3.8-liter flat six that has Porsche's Variocam system on both the intake and exhaust, enabling 0-60 performance in the 4 second range with 435 hp and a top speed of 194mph. That's not all, however: it also features dynamic engine mounts that use magnetic fluid to stiffen the mounts when driving hard, yet offer a soft ride in normal conditions, an air-based lift system to raise the car up to 1.18 inches for driving over speedbumps or up inclines, LED tail lights, and more.
I WANT ONE :P

Wimmer RS Porsche 911 GT2

As if the Porsche 911 GT2 wasn't fast enough in stock form, German tuning house Wimmer Racing Technology has unveiled a new €30,000 ($40,000) package for the Stuttgart supercar to take its already superlative performance to stratospheric levels. With a re-calibrated ECU, upgraded turbos, new cylinder heads, camshafts and a custom exhaust, the Wimmer RS GT2 produces a whopping 680 horsepower and 642 lb-ft of torque, capable of propelling the twin-turbo rocket up to sixty in a scant 3.4 seconds on its way to a top speed of 221 mph. Accompanying the engine mods are a carbon-fiber aero kit, H&R suspension and 20-inch Sportec wheels. Check out the details in the press release after the jump and the images in the gallery below.
