The latest celeb to have a fake online death

Be calm, ladies. Johnny Depp is alive and well.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star is the latest celebrity to fall victim to a fake online death hoax. False reports emerged yesterday claiming that the 46-year-old had died in a car accident in France, while others suggested he was found dead in his French home.
Fans of the actor immediately took to social networking site Twitter to express their shock and sorrow. But their reaction was premature is it now appears that Johnny’s “death” was yet another online hoax targeting celebrities.
Earlier this month, Twilight star Taylor Lautner found himself a victim of the fake rumours when reports surfaced that he had overdosed on cocaine at a Hollywood party. Johnny and Taylor are among a long list of celebs who have experienced internet death rumours, including Zach Braff, Jeff Goldblum, and even George Clooney.
