Kuwaiti health chiefs have announced that prices of abour 5,000 medicines on sale in the Gulf state will be cut by five percent.He said the reduction would involve as many as 5,000 types of pharmaceuticals in comments published by KUNA News Agency
Hilal Al-Sayer, Minister of Health, said the move was part of the ministry's efforts to provide "better, but low-priced, medical services" for Kuwaiti citizens and expatriates.
"The reduction of medicine prices will contribute to cutting medical treatment costs for citizens and expatriates," he said.
Separately, Omar al-Sayed Omar, assistant undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Medicines and Medical Preparations said that prices of medicines and food supplements would be reconsidered every six months.
