Kuwait expects Vietnam refinery to start by 2014

Kuwait intends to keep its 35.1 percent stake in Vietnam’s second refinery, planned to be ready in 2014, the middle eastern country’s oil minister said.

Kuwait inflation up 3.4% year-on-year in June

Kuwait’s inflation rate increased 3.4 percent in June compared to the same month the previous year, Central Department of Statistics data shows.

Food prices lead the inflation rise, increasing by 7.2 percent year-on-year, while house prices rose by 4.7 percent, the official news agency KUNA reports.

Compared to May, inflation was slightly up with an increase of 0.5 percent. Food prices were up 0.1 percent and house prices up 1.3 percent.

 

According to the report, beverages and tobacco prices rose four percent compared to June 2009, but recorded a decline of 0.2 percent compared to the previous month.

Clothing and footwear costs increased 3.8 percent year-on-year, while the rate of inflation for education and health services rose 1.5 percent during the same period.

(جزيرتين للعماير) أمير المسلمية عدوان .. وجنه أميرها مجدل .. والصبيح والعماير صنفين : صف

بحرية وصف برية .. فالصبيح أميرهم محمد بن عجران البرية والبحرية والعماير امير القريه(؟) عدوان

ومجدل .. والبرية أميرهم أفويرس الحسن وشبيب العقل الخالدي .. ورسمنا جاري عليهم من الآباء

القرايا المذكورة تتبعنا من الآباء والأجداد ورسمنا جاري عليهم .. البرية نزكي أوبائهم ( آبائهم ) ..

والبحرية نأخذ رسم على سفائنهم ( سفنهم ) ..

وحدودنا من شمال أم قصر اللي بناها جدنا جابر .. وسفوان ومن قبله ؟؟ الباطن إلى حفر الباطن ..

ومن الباطن وجنوب الصمان والقريمة منها ( أي اللي تتبعها ) .. جنوب إلهابه منها جنوب وأقريات

وقصوان.. وقرايا أنطاع .. وكلما داخل في هذا الحدود هو في حمانا ومسكن عشائرنا .. فهنا حدودنا

التي تلقيناها من الآباء والأجداد .. وشاهد على ذلك أخواني أمراء العسكرية كلما أمشي وياهم

بمرافقتهم براً للأحساء والقطيف شاهدت جميع عشائري الذي هذي مساكنهم بمعيتي

ومن شرق جزيرة فيلكا .. أهاليها بحرية .. أميرهم سعود الصباح .. وبوبيان والصبية والحجيجة

والصابرية وأم نقا .. هذي المياه المذكورة جميعها موارد عشائرنا منذ القديم

"Gurgi'yaan" The Kuwaiti Ramadan Tradition

In the middle of the Holy Month of Ramadan in Kuwait, there is a tradition called Gurgi'yaan. For three days the children get together, get all dressed up in traditional Kuwait garb, boys wearing "dishdashas" (the long Kuwaiti robe), and an embroidered cap and vest, and the girls wearing "bukhnag" (a long, sheer, gold-embroidered head cover) and traditional "dara'a" (embroidered traditional Kuwaiti long dress), all carrying their "gurgi'yaan" bags (usually cloth bags with embroidery and a long strap, with plenty of room for collecting candy and other sweetmeats) and go around chanting and singing old traditional Kuwaiti songs which are like supplications (prayers) for the residents of the homes they pass by. The idea is that the people come out and give them candy and other treats in order to thank them for their supplications. The word "gurgi'yaan" comes from the candy that is now included in the mix of candy and nuts that is given out at this time. The "gurgi'yaan" is the candy that is white and bumpy looking with a crunchy garbanzo bean inside.
For many Kuwaiti households this is the time of making large parties for their children, and the children of the relatives and friends. In these parties you may see clowns, magicians, traditional bands, traditional games and more. For others, attendance at the many locally sponsored parties is enough, and the children all enjoy all this excitement very much, of course! Many households make special "gurgi'yaan" packets for their children, or for the household to give out to the children who come by or come to their party. These special packets could be made with little baskets.

Consumption of Dates During Ramadan Increases

Muslims from different countries may eat different traditional regional dishes at their Iftar dinners, but all Muslims are required to break the fast with a date. It is a religious requirement, and as dates are generally in excess of 65% sugar, it provides an instant carb boost after a day without food or water. Consumption of dates during Ramadan increases dramatically. Saudi dates are deemed the noblest of all dates, coming from the holy land. They are also regarded by many connoisseurs as the best quality dates. There are several hundred varieties of dates. The main varieties are Khodri, Sagai, Khalas, Sukkari, Safawi, Mabroom, Barhi and Amwaj. Like other fruit, dates are a seasonal product, therefore the supply of fresh delicious dates is always limited. However Palmwonders provides processed dates (Tamr) and dried dates all year round.
Dates are classified as soft, semidry, or dry, depending upon the softness of the ripe fruit.

Dates freeze extremely well, so you can put them in your freezer and enjoy them year round.

The fully ripe date is plump, with a golden-brown smooth skin. The natural sugar contained in the date is much better for a person than highly refined white sugar.
Dates can be eaten with whole raw milk for ulcers of the stomach. When used this way, however, you may have to soak and peel them. The date water can be used with milk for children who have sensitive stomachs, as it helps digest the milk. The fiber or cellulose of the date is very soft and will not irritate a sensitive bowel or stomach. Dates are heat-producing, and give energy to people who engage in physical exercise and hard work. They are also a good source of copper, which is a diet essential, even though it is needed by the body only in small amounts.

Kuwaiti Ramadan Cuisine

Food plays a large part in Kuwaiti culture. The national dish of Kuwait known as machboos consists mainly of mutton, or chicken placed over or mixed in a large mass of well-cooked and prepared rice. Food is almost always prepared and served in large amounts, and it is extremely common for households to invite guests over to share meals. Kuwaiti cuisine is an infusion of Indian, Persian, Mediterranean, and Najdi (the center of the Arabian Peninsula) cuisine.


The following is the most common Kuwaiti traditional dishes during Ramadan:

• Qouzi, a Kuwait national dish consisting of a roasted lamb stuffed with rice, chicken, eggs, and other ingredients.

• Machboos, a dish made with mutton or chicken accompanied over fragrant rice that been cooked in chicken/mutton well spiced broth.

• Laban Buttermilk.

• Gers Ogaily, a traditional cake made with eggs, flour, sugar, cardamom, and saffron. Traditionally served with tea.

• Harees, wheat cooked with meat then mashed ,usually topped with cinnamon sugar.

• Jireesh (Yireesh), a mash of cooked spelt with chicken or lamb ,tomatoes and some spices.

• Gabout (Gabboot), stuffed flour dumplings in a thick meat stew

بعث وكيل وزارة الكهرباء أمس كتابا رسميا إلى جميع وزارات الدولة مناشدا إياها تخفيض الاستهلاك.

وجاء في الكتاب «بناء على ارتفاع الأحمال الكهربائية , نحيطكم علما بأن الحمل الكهربائي لهذا اليوم مرتفع جدا وفي تزايد تفوق ذروته الطاقة الكهربائية الآمنة المتوافرة، والوزارة تطلب من جميع الوزارات البدء في تخفيض الأحمال وإيقاف معدات التكييف وتقليل الأحمال الكهربائية الأخرى قبل الساعة الواحدة ظهرا حتى الرابعة عصرا، وذلك حتى تتمكن الوزارة من توفير خدمة الكهرباء.

Kuwait awards $155m oil and gas contract

ABB, the power and automation technology group, on Tuesday said it has won a contract worth $155 million from the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC).

The company will design and build a new 123km crude-oil transit line and associated ancillary systems.

The transit line will run between oil fields in the north of the country and a storage facility in the south.

Kuwait plans to sign $893m gas unit contract with Daelim

Kuwait National Petroleum Co plans to sign a 260 million-dinar ($893 million) contract with South Korea’s Daelim Industrial Co to build a fourth gas production line, also known as trains, at its Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery, said a spokesman at the state-run refiner.

لم يتوقع مراقب في جهة حكومية في محافظة الجهراء أنه سيقع يوما بشر اعماله عندما انكشف امام الموظفات بعد ان «كبسن» عليه داخل احدى الغرف الخالية مع احدى الموظفات والباب مغلق بالأقفال وعندما انكشف وضبطوه متلبساً دخل في مقايضات مع الموظفات في القسم وقال لهن الستر مقابل الاعمال الممتازة.

I have just received a broadcast about Starbucks ..

Someone went there and ordered a Mocha frapp. They gave him the order and when he took a sip he realized something !!!  it wasn’t Mocha at all .. it was a CARAMEL taste .. (Dulce de leche) , and when he told the starbcuks guy that this is not mocha its caramel .. the starbucks guy insisted that its a mocha frapp. !!

but the guy refused to take the drink !!

Then they replaced his order with mocha … and apologized about that mistake !!

I think this is their new way of promoting/ forcing their products !! so watch out and try ur order b4 leaving starbucks from now on !!

P.S: have u noticed that even when u tell them ur order like I want mocha frapp, or anything they always say ( SIR/ MA’AM why not try the new Dulce de leche !!!!!!! ) FOR GOD SAKE I KNOW WHAT I WANT STOP TELLING ME ABOUT THE STUPID DOLCE DE LECHE !!
