New PC Fits in Your Pocket - Nokia N810

Internet tablet mini PCs are becoming increasingly popular because of their small size and ever-growing capabilities. The Nokia N810was released this week, and this Internet tablet PC only weighs about 8 ounces and is only 5 inches wide. The small size of an Internet tablet, such as the Nokia N810, make them a better choice for traveling professionals who don’t want to lug a laptop around on business trips.

Although small, the Nokia N810 sports a relatively speedy 400 MHz processor, 128 MB of memory, and 2 GB of internal storage. The memory can also be upgraded an additional 8 GB via memory card.

The operating system used in the Nokia N810 Internet tablet is a Maemo Linux-based OS2008 with a Mozilla-based browser. The Internet browser works just like your computer’s Internet browser but on a smaller scale. The Nokia N810 has built-in Wi-Fi capabilities, which allow you to connect to the Internet wherever wireless Internet is available.

The body of the N810 is only about half of an inch thick, and it sports a nice-sized 4.13 inch touch-screen LCD display. The keyboard is hidden beneath the display, and is accessed by sliding the display upwards.
 

The Nokia N810 Internet tablet can be a convenient tool for people looking for a compact device which will replace their laptop, PDA, MP3 player, and GPS unit. The Nokia N810 is available now for a MRSP of $479. Not a bad price for a device that is as useful as the Nokia N810.

Now the down side of this device ..

the connection is either by WI-FI or Bluetooth  ONLY !

and you are able only to place calls via skype, and possibly other VoIP phone services. You can't use it as a typical cell phone that you hold to your ear or anything like that !
